Arabesque?

I learnt something new today. Someone wrote "arabesque" in a Facebook post and I became curious. It had something to do with dance since I know the photographer is heavily involved in the arts scene. This is what I learnt.

An arabesque is a one of the most difficult techniques in ballet which almost qualifies as torture in the Dark Ages or a beautiful movement if executed well.

Arabesque also refers to the repeated geometric pattern found in Islamic art.
